No more pennies?

Trump ordered the Secretary of the Treasury to have the U.S. mint stop making pennies because they cost more than their face value (almost 3 cents). The Mint spent over $179 million to make pennies in Fiscal Year 2023, so stopping production should reduce the annual federal debt by a little more than 0.02%.
