Backlash from Musk email to all federal workers leads to backtracking

Federal employees received an email from the Office of Personnel Management on Saturday telling them they had to send an email by the end of the day on Monday with five bullet points on what they had achieved in the past week. This was followed by a post by Musk on the social media app formerly known as Twitter that failure to respond to the email would be taken as a resignation. This was not taken nicely by federal workers and their managers, including some Trump appointees, nor by federal employees’ unions. Kash Patel, the newly installed Director of the FBI, told his workers to ignore the email.
